Your Medicare at 65 roadmap

Turning 65? Let’s Make the Next Steps Clear.

Your Medicare choices begin with timing: when to enroll, what current coverage you have, and how you want to receive care.

What we’ll sort out

  • Your Initial Enrollment Period and key dates
  • How employer or individual coverage affects enrollment
  • The difference between Original Medicare and Medicare Advantage
  • How prescription coverage fits into the picture
01

Six months before

Gather information about current coverage, employer size, HSA contributions, doctors, prescriptions, and likely retirement timing. This creates room to solve questions before deadlines.

02

Three months before

Your seven month Initial Enrollment Period begins. If Medicare should start at 65, this is the time to complete enrollment and compare coverage around Parts A and B.

03

Your birthday month and after

Confirm effective dates, plan materials, prescription coverage, and how to use your benefits. The enrollment period continues for three months after your birthday month, but waiting can delay coverage.
